Bronze-Finished Vertical Aluminum Screens Custom Wall-Cladding System in White Oak

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Within Hudson’s Detroit, the transformative 1.5-million-square-foot mixed-use complex developed by Bedrock Detroit, Eventscape shaped The Department’s architectural identity through a series of Art Deco–inspired custom installations.

Working closely with SHoP Architects, Kendall/Heaton Associates and Barton Malow, Eventscape engineered, fabricated and installed specialty interior elements that span three levels of the event space.

One signature feature is the ensemble of bronze-finished vertical aluminum screens, detailed with honed and sealed black granite accents that frame the escalator entryway and create a sculptural vertical rhythm. Complementing these metal features is a custom wall-cladding system crafted from beautifully hand-finished, stained and fire-resistant white oak vertical strips. This cladding not only enhances warmth and sophistication but also conceals mechanical systems seamlessly throughout the space.

Together these features deliver an elevated Art Deco–influenced environment suited for conferences, galas, major events and celebrations as Detroit continues to transform.
