BUILT BY EVENTSCAPE, JULY 2012

This custom curved glass 107 square foot kiosk for Face Cosmetics is located in The Shops at Columbus Circle in Manhattan. Eventscape engineered, fabricated and installed the entire kiosk built of 1/2” low iron curved, tempered glass walls and shelving, aluminum and steel frames, and custom laminate millwork. An unoccupied small section of the retail floor area was able to be re-purposed and the curved profile allowed an unobstructed traffic flow at this busy corner entrance.

This was a complex custom project with many different elements fitting together in a precise form. The curved metal structural top beam was built of powder coated aluminum with integrated downlighting. The stainless steel shoe supports the glass panels which were pre-drilled prior to tempering. Because of the curved walls, custom stainless steel hardware was required to support the glass shelves and support fins. The size of the glass panels required an extra large oven and used a custom jig to curve and temper at the same time. A standard roller door track system with minimal hardware was customized by Eventscape by working with the manufacturer’s engineer in Germany, adding machined slots for adjustments and a custom hole pattern to match the glass walls.
